A business mailing address and a registered agent solve different problems. A digital mailbox helps you receive and manage ordinary business mail. A registered agent is designated to receive service of process and specified official communications for the entity. Buying one does not automatically satisfy the requirements of the other.

What Notorio’s Digital Mailbox provides

The Digital Mailbox service is $39 per month, plus applicable tax. It includes scanning of supported paper mail into your company workspace, without a per-scan fee. It is a separate monthly service, not an annual mailbox plan or an automatic inclusion in your workspace subscription.

Check the address and availability shown for your selected state before purchasing. Do not use a proposed address as if the service were already active; use the assigned address after the request has been fulfilled.

Know what is outside the service

This is a paper-mail service, not a package or parcel receiving service. Scanning is not the same as forwarding physical originals. Do not assume physical forwarding, storage of originals, same-day scanning or acceptance of every item is included unless those arrangements have been expressly confirmed.

If you expect a cheque, identity document or another item whose original matters, ask about its handling before having it sent. Contact Notorio to confirm any requirement that is not stated in the service details.

Receiving a scan does not resolve the underlying notice

A tax letter, government notice or payment demand may have a deadline. Opening or archiving its scan does not respond to the sender or extend that deadline. Check the recipient, date, requested action and supporting pages, then assign responsibility for the response.

Email alerts are a convenience, not a substitute for checking the workspace. Account notification preferences can affect which alerts you receive; if you unsubscribe, make your own arrangements to monitor mail and deadlines.

A mailing address is not universal proof of a physical office

Banks, payment providers, licensing authorities and government agencies may distinguish mailing addresses from physical operating addresses. A mailbox does not guarantee acceptance for every application, and it does not establish that the business operates in that state.

Likewise, an ordinary mailbox is not a substitute for a registered agent meeting the state’s requirements. Keep the company’s principal address, mailing address and registered-agent details recorded under their correct roles.

A practical setup checklist

  1. Confirm service availability and the assigned address.
  2. Check how supported paper mail and any required originals will be handled.
  3. Update senders only after activation.
  4. Give appropriate team members access to the workspace.
  5. Schedule a regular review and record deadlines from notices.
  6. Before cancelling, arrange a replacement address and notify senders.

Review the Digital Mailbox service, compare it with Registered Agent service, and read the service terms. A mailbox makes mail easier to manage; it does not remove the company’s responsibility to act on it.
